General

Berggasthaus Pirigen was built in 1865 and is situated at 1773m above Sea level. Our panorama over the Schanfigg valley is second to none, enjoying 180 degree south facing unspoiled views. On the other side of the valley is the Arosa mountain peak of Weisshorn.

Open Tuesday to Sunday from 9am
From the 18th March - 22nd April only open Friday to Sunday

Rooms

All room bookings include a 3 course evening meal and a cold buffet breakfast with cheese, cereals, homemade bread, jams, tea selection & coffee. We have shared washroom facilities and separate male and female toilets. We have solar electricity for lights and for re-charging a couple of mobile phones, but please leave your hair dryers at home! We ask guests to remember we rely on burning wood to heat the house and the water, so please use as little hot water as possible.

Family Room (upto 6 people): Sun-Thurs CHF 340.- || Fr-Sa CHF 380.-

Payment:
Cash or advanced bank transfer.

Debit Card / VISA / Mastercard / Maestro we charge 2%.

Breakfast is usually served at 08:30. Other times available on request.
Check in from 15:00. Checkout by 10:30. It is no problem to store bags earlier or later.

Travel in Winter

Please see our location page for other details. Parking is possible above langwies (follow Pirigen sign), 4 wheel drive vehicles are usually no problem. Then cars can park at Nitschegg (the divide on the street between Pirigen/Fondei). From here guests can walk up to Pirigen on the well prepared snow covered street (45 mins), or when booked in advance we can collect guests (CHF 15.- per person, minimum CHF45.-).

Sledges can be borrowed from us for your return journey to Nitschegg.
Driving all the way up to Pirigen during winter is forbidden.

Winter Walk & Ski Tips

Ski touring, snow shoe walking and hiking are all possible around Pirigen in winter:

Mattischhorn is about 2hrs walk (on skis or snow shoes).
Other longer tours are possible.
